Looking For The Perfect Beat

Afrika Bambaataa sang about The Perfect Beat. Some of us were lucky enough to be there recently, when Kid Kellum reached a milestone in his own quest for the Perfect Beat. We got to join other friends and family in (the aptly-named) Pleasantville, New York, for his Senior Recital. And while I think we all knew that The Kid had the goods, some of us (like, myself) didn't really get to see until that afternoon just how good the goods really were.

And so he sang, and it brought forth much whistles and laughter and tears and joy. And then we ate and drank. His fabulous parents provided plenty to partake of. We spoke and hugged and danced; He sang some more (we all sang a little). It was an undeniably special time, and I feel very lucky to have been included.

Finally Kid Kellum has made the front page -- it's been a long time coming. So, a huge thanks to himself, his family, and everyone else for including us. 'Twas a blast.
The Kid's found The Beat... and he can't keep from dancin'!
