Jar Jar, Jango Fett, & Jedi Nookie. (by Kluv, 4/10/02, 4:34pm)

Start your geek engines. The opening of 'Attack of the Clones' has snuck up on us, and we're only about a month away. It seems like only yesterday we were up at the Pyramid mall seeing the movie and getting right back in line. Good times. The only question that remains now is....where and when? The dark side awaits. Also this evening, I've gotten a chance to listen in on the new Soundtrack by John Williams. The big song from this is 'Across the Stars (love theme)'. I thought we had a copy a few weeks ago @ duck's house, but it wasn't the real deal. Well, I heard the real deal today, and it's good stuff. Catch a snippet by going over to the official Sony Classical site here. (some say that there might just be some songs to be found on Kazaa, but I wouldn't be one of them. That would be wrong.)

(plus, there are some bogus tracks out there trying to disguise themselves as the official Williams jaunt. Don't be fooled.)

PS: The Mystery Pic has finally been UPDATED!

Big Pimpin', Spendin' Cheeze. (by Kluv, 4/8/02, 9:19pm)

Yo. Sup? Wha'choo do this weekend? Coo. I chose to spend the weekend repairing my damaged computron with Norton System Works 2002 (worked like a charm), and did some cleaning up around the apartment/cyberspace. Purveyed a newly discovered tavern in Astoria last week by the name of 'Sunswick'. Where they had numerous taps ('Coldest Beer in NY!' said the advert) and numerous Televisions. Bartender heard Irish & myself talking w/ Duck about the Sox & Celts, so he popped on the Bruins game for us. Nice guy. Also got to watch the very first SmackDown! since the rosters split. Fun times.

In case you didn't realize, Jedirish got back into town last week with a brand-new PS2 in tow (reaped from his birthday on Marz25th). Now, he is in the PS2 clan, and will soon feel the crystal-meth-like addiction to Grand Theft Auto III that has taken us all (even I spent 2 1/2 hours trying to do the rampage where I snipe the heads off the columbians...still didn't do it...).

Thanks to the free preview of the MLB Extra Innings on DTV, Matty and I were able to watch the Sox game on Sunday where Pedro made his triumphant return to winning ways with a masterful performance against the Orioles. Papa Lou was in attendance, and had a great time seeing K-dro get his first win in many moons. He said the pop that Ped's 96-mph fastball made in Varitek's mitt was audible, and he almost caught a zinging foul from Tony 'the Ex-Tiger' Clark (but lost it as it kareened off a womans shoulder 2 seats in front of him). GiMp was mighty pleased that her pseudo-hubby Hillenbrand had "a couplea pairs of 2-run homers" while she flew back from San Fran/Seattle/Oaktown/etc. on her west coast gala.

Also, while Diggity was watching the Nets fall victim to Paul 'The Truth' Pierce & the Celtics, Myself, Irish, Frants, Mamity, Bunk, Diesel, Bobo, & others were celebrating J2S' life-day. At 25 years, his parents still brought naked baby photos (I mean, fourteen is an old baby, but a baby nonetheless), and provided us with some yummy beer & cake. Mols did a nice job of arrangin' things, and aside from the crap bartendress--it was an all-round good time. (Just like 'Switch', the #1 all-round entertainer on the Costa del Sol.)

Well, that's my weekend. You might want to take a peep over at the Messageboard, where Haiku is making a comeback. Plus, there's a lil' play involving our boys Salieri & B.C. at the Events page. Aaaand, the LINKS page has been revamped/slimmed down, so that it's just one giant list of various links to mess around on. If you have any that you'd like to add---lemme know. Till then, keep your G's straight & your ho's in check. Word.

Update For Update's Sake (by Frants, 4/4/02, 2:23pm)

Kluv asked, nay demanded me to write an update for the site. So here it is. An update.

Let's see, it's 2:23pm on Thursday, April 4, 2002. Sunny outside, about 52 degrees F.

What's in the news today? GASP AND HORROR! Bryant Gumbel is leaving CBS's The Early Show! Oh god, what will happen to mornings now that the crass, uncaring, sarcastic asshole known to his friends as Bry-Bry and to his enemies as -CENSORED- is leaving? And what will he pursue next?

That's about it really. Make sure to go to the Film Fop Forum for all your latest Film Fop antics. Tip your waitress, she's working hard for you. Make sure your local Chinese food vendor uses no MSG. Give puppies the right to be loved: write your congressman about The Puppy Protection act portion of the Farm Overhaul Program.

Peace out.
Update over. FULL STOP.

Okay Okay Strikes Back. (by Kluv, 4/4/02)

As an added treat for everyone on this wonderful Thursday, I bring you a whole new page of the Inspirational Writings of Larry's Dad: Darth Okay Okay! If you haven't read his words in a while, go back to the beginning, and fall in love all over again with the man who brought us 'TESTING EMAIL VALIDITY BETWEEN US'.

Truly, an american treasure.

Also, if you happened to miss 'the Osbournes' this past Tuesday--try and catch the rerun. Now. As soon as possible. The phrase "comic gold" doesn't even do it justice. The image of Ozzy falling backwards in his chair when noone is around... will continue to bring me joy for quite some time.

Alright. Back to work.

ps--Yer all welcome to take a look at your bio's and do a little updating. Some of em' are getting a little dusty. I think mine still said I was 23 when I updated mine the other day. Ah. 23. When I still had a full head of hair....

pps-- If you haven't seen on the messageboard: Two new Tom Waits Mp3's can be found over at Anti.com, and they are well worth the download. Enjoy.

ppps-- Gimp is out west in San Fran/Oaktown/Seattle, and wanted me to pass her hellos onto you.

"Hello".

She says the weather is nice.

The Buoys of Summer. (by Kluv, 4/1/02, 8:54pm)

Well, opening day has come and gone. And for most of us, it has really gone. Are these indications of things to come?

1. Will Baltimore, Toronto, & Tampa Bay remain atop the Sox & Yanks?
2. Will ERA's of Pedro (21.00) and Roger (16.61) ever go down?
3. Will Giambi leave 905 batters on base this year?
4. Will Tony Clark continue his pace for a .600, 182 HR, 546 RBI comeback season?
5. Will Soriano, Bernie, Ventura, Jorge, or Nick Johnson ever get a hit?
6. Will Ted Lilly throw 364 K's, or will Shea Hillenbrand get 182 walks (after only 13 walks in 2001)?

Is it still the beginning of the season? Yes.
Did I make lame attempts at trash talking in #'s 3 & 5? Yes.
Am I going to go and watch RAW to relax now? Yes.

Deeb. Has Left. The Building. (by Kluv, 4/1/02, 10:46am)

Well kids, he's left us. As of yesterday, Deebins hath fled the east coast in search of chicago-style pizza. We wish him well, & hope to see him sometime again in the 'hood.

As for the rest of us, spring is here. And with the coming of spring is: baseball.

Oh yes. Once again, it is time to don the caps and gloves and begin the most passionate sports-smack-talk of the year. It is a new season, and most of our teams have undergone some big changes. Who will win? Whose cuisine will reign supreme?! Keep and eye on the tube & the messageboard, and I'm sure you'll be able to gague our teams respective levels of success by the no. of posts/epithets. It's the national pastime, y'all.

This past weekend a number of folks took a jaunt out to the movies to catch 'Panic Room'. Well done job by Mr. Fincher & the cast. Keeps the tension building thru the whole film--right up thru the ending. I'd say we give it two big thumbs up. Also, on Saturday night, Myself, Gimp, Duck, Frants, Mamity, TonyMayes, Ben-No, & Pollyanna were in the house @ MSG to watch the one and only Kevin Venardos perform as the Ringmaster of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. It was truly an amazing event. KV was without a doubt masterful in his role--he was truly born to be the Ringmaster. It was mind blowing to see him down on the floor of the Garden singing and talking to the thousands of people watching. I mean, he was the only person that speaks thru the whole show. He sang every number. And he's loving it, too. He took us backstage and we got to see the elephants and animals (and his dog) and the costumes and tons of other stuff.... needless to say, IT WAS AWESOME. So, if you're in the city, and you get the chance--go catch KV as the Ringmaster. Also, click here to check out KV virtually on the web.

That's about all I gotst for ya. Enjoy spring.
