Almost a month has
gone by since last this puppy was touched. I trust that the holidays
were as great as mine (with GiMpy getting me the Deuce, along with games
and goods for it from friends and family, it was quite possibly the
best christmas on record). I've played my brains out with GTAIII and
Madden 02' and Bat-min...but the new job @ Ed has tempered my playing
a bit (which is a good thing, I suppose).
Things are going
well for much of the mafia (the new job rules), and things are alive
and kicking--in fact, there are a number of events coming up that you
should be sure to go and check out. Go on over to the Events
page and check them out when you're done here.
Also, the Jedi Awards
are wrapping up this week. After a number of weeks of voting, most have
cast their favorites. If you haven't, be sure to put them on the board
or email them to me by this weekend. I'll be putting up the results
(hopefully) by then.
Great pictures were
taken @ the New Years festivities, hopefully I'll be able to get the
pics up soon on the site, once I make some room for them--fun shots
of all your favorites, including the Haps man, who stopped in town for
some 7&7's.
That's all for tonight,
as both bed & playstation are calling me...but who will win? Which
is the stronger? Only time will tell.... (More than likely, the fact
that JB is on Dave tonight will be the ultimate winner--can't pass up
a chance to see Jables. Also, he's hosting the SNL this week. And he's
on howard tomorrow. And O&A sometime as well. That man is everywhere
you want to be.)
But in the meantime,
if you're tired of waiting another month for an update to the site--then
get off your can and write one yourself. If you do, and then email it
to me, I'll put it up on the site. Takes much less time than doing it
myself, so it'll go up nice-n-quick.
This is Stretch
Armstrong, and I'm ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut. Liberty City in the house.
Most
Wonderful Time of the Year (12/14/01)
Ahoy Hoy, folks. Just wanted
to shoot a quick post up-in-here-up-in-here before the action-packed weekend. Tonight, we have
the 1st Annual Spanish Harlem Semi-Formal, which should be a blast. Also, tomorrow is the
end-o-the-year Mrs.Grundy blowout at Elbow Room (sure to rock--see below for details), and
lastly, on Sunday, we're going to brave the masses and go Ice Skating @ Central Park.
Whooop Deeee Freakin' Dooooooooo!
Hope to see many of you folks there.
Christmas is filling me with a "Christmas-Story-Like" obession over my desire for a
Playstation 2. Gimp observed the other night that I have become like Ralphie repeating
over and over that all I want is a RedRiderBBGun withacompassandastock andthisthingthattellstime.
Frants says that I'll "play my eye out".
So, besides a Playstation 2, I have actually already recieved what could possibly be the greatest Christmas
present: A New Job. Some of you already know, but for those that don't--Next Tuesday
will be my last day @ my current one down in TriBeCa.
It was a great job for the last year + (save for the time those buildings fell on top of me), but it's
come to an end. As of next Wednesday, I will be the newest resident of Stuckeyville.
That's right, folks--I've sold my soul to the devil, and the devil's name is Ed! I'll be starting
in the rokken position of "Spermy's Man-Servant" (also known as a "PA for the Writing
Dept."). I'm beyond excitement at this opportunity, and am deeply indebted to Sperm
for offering it to me. I hope to serve my new Viacom masters well. Which means...while the
perks of the 'Ed Employment' have been well documented--
you'll also probably be seeing a lot less of me around on weeknights. And weekendnights. And any other time.
But it is all worth it. Oh yes, it is all worth it--for I have seen Stuckeyville.
And it is good.
So, in short: Wednesdays, 8pm, NBC. Ed. Watch it, and tell every goddamned person you
know to do the same. Please.
Thank you. That is all.
The
Dark Knight Strikes Again (12/10/01)
Greetings
war-torn Jedi.
This is Lt. Duck reporting for update duty as is my bi-annual responsibility.
I know many of you are slightly shell shocked from the nasty doings
upon this page over the last few weeks, but fear not, for as reported
on the messageboard (the very forum that bred this hatred), all the
Jedi mirthed and merrimented this weekend in honor of some Jedi-birthdays.
Gimp hit 25, Deisel is not far behind. Big ups to DB who calmly greased
the palm of Shaq, who was on hand to ensure no one was standing. A quick
Hamilton did the job, and an enormous hang-space was created. Again,
big ups.
The holidays approach with reckless abandon, and partying shall be done.
You may check the events page or
the message
board for more info, but this year's party is officially titled
"Christmas in 'Da Hood," and will be hosted by our only friends
from Harlem, Amity, Brantley and Tony. Friday December 14 is the date,
and that's all the info I remember. Check the other two pages you lazy
fools.
Many employment updates in the works as well. The aforementioned smoove
operater DB has finished his hellish night job on "The Bravest,"
and has moved on to a mammoth undertaking of editing Dan Akroyd's new
show on the Sci-Fi channel. Apparently the are intending to shoot 3
episodes per day, 5 days a week for six weeks. Egads. See you in the
Spring, DB.
The aged Gimp herself also drinks from the well of gainful employment.
She has landed a role in the Ohio production of "Forbidden Broadway"
following a "persuasive" call by the influential Brantley
Aufill. Gimpington will depart for Ohio in the beginning of next month,
so we must all wish her well.
Site Master Generalisimo Kluv has also gotten himself a new job, excellent
in nature, the details of which are to be revealed sometime in the near
future...
Which leads me to me, as everything I do always does. My real agenda
is to push Mrs. Grundy's final gig of the year!!!
Yes,
Mrs. Grundy, everyone's favorite band without a drug problem among them,
will be playing their FINAL show of the year at the Elbow Room on Saturday,
December 15th at 11:00PM. I know it's kinda late, but come on, it's
SATURDAY. This is a really important show for us for a number of reasons:
1)we are ego-driven, and without fans, there is no reason to play--
after all, the music sucks. 2) we are filming a video and it would look
pretty stupid with no one there. 3)This is our last show of the year,
so we will be pulling out all the stops. 4)We rock. 5)Outfits.
That is all I will say, but please please please please come check us
out. The info again is such:
The
Elbow Room
144 Bleeker Street.
Saturday, December 15th, 11:00 PM
Thanks in advance, and that is all I can think of. See below for anything
Kev could think of that I forgot!!
.............(Kluv's
supplemental update.)
A big thanks
to the D-Man for his spaciously-sized update. Go Nets, but watch out
for my Celts.
The madness
which consumed the last few weeks has now been retired to the Archives.
Deeb is back on our new ad-free messageboard,
and being looked after with a watchful eye. (Thanks for the Kwaanza
card Seester & Yotko.) I trust that everyone has been doing well,
and we're now ready to go back to the same old lame-ass updates. But...we
still have yet to discover the identity of the mysterious messageboard
baiter "Rick". Will we ever know?!?
So, like
the D-Man said, we got ourselves a few things coming up this week in
terms of fun-times: 1.) Friday is the 1st Annual Spanish Harlem Semi-Formal
Christmas Party (hosted by Frants & Co.), so be sure to be there
and be square. And no, the fingerless guy can't make it that
night--he's getting his mohawk dyed. 2.) Saturday night is the Mrs.
Grundy end o' the year blowout @ the elbow room. Grundy needs you
to blow the roof off. Example:
Be you angels?
Nay.
We are but men.
Rock.
3.) Sunday
it seemeth like a number of us are going to go Ice Skating at the ol'
Central Park--join us, why don't you? It's sure to be fun, and I'll
be wearing protective gear so as to not kill meself. Check the board
for details.
For those
of you who haven't heard, some big ol' changes in the Kluv & GiMp
household have come our way. The Gimpington has just been cast in a
prod. of "Forbidden Broadway" in some state called "Ohio"...there's
supposedly someone called "Linds" out there, but the whole
thing seems a little suspect to me... Anywho, GiMpy is mighty excited
(rightfully so), and will be hitting the road after the new year for
about 9 weeks. As the diggity mentioned, I also have recently been graced
with some excellent new employment digs, and therefore have crumbled
and gotten....A CELL PHONE. I know, I've raged for years against
the tide, but it was too much for me. I have ridden the cellular snake.
And it is good. Everybody's doing it. Join us. It's bliiiiiiiiissssssssssss.
Picked up
meself a copy of Frank Miller's 'The Dark Knight Strikes Again' today,
and it's a goodun. Wild storyline, especially in light of the current
events of our day, and I'm looking forward to the next two parts. A
nicely sized book, it runs about 75 pages, and is only $8. Support yer
local comic shop and pick one up for someone you love.
Think that's
about it, just been holidaying it up and working a bit on the Pineapple
Project website (Coming Soon!). Hope to see most of you folks later
this week. Before you go, though--check out the mystery link for this
week...It's a blast from the past.
GO
See Things, and then Watch Ed...
(January, 2002)
It's 2002,
which means that some folk are doing stuff somewhere's in the city &
greater USA area. So, support them and be good folks. And when you're
done with that, be sure to watch TV's ED, if just so that your
ol' pal Kevin/Corey/Larry have a job come 2003! So get on the bus, and
get down with 'Golden Globe Nominee Ed!'
