Cry Little Sister (thou shall not fall). (by Kluv, 8/9/03, 9:57am)

And the summertime, it rolls. Indeed, it rolls. Well, the typical start-working-neglect-the-website phase has begun again (as I'm sure you've noticed). But, with Ire's recent resurgence into the "Ire of the Tiger" forum, and Frants' continued dedication to the FFF, I've found energy on this lazy Sunday to update the site proper. I'd have to say that the first item up for business is the fact that we finally have a date locked down for volleyball, the annual Emily Punk Rock volleyball game! Peep the following email from Em:

"Hello all -
I hope you can come out to Brooklyn for a little birthday celebration next Saturday, August 16. Weather permitting, there will be some afternoon volleyball, followed by evening cocktails. Weather not permitting, we'll just be forced to have extended cocktails. Please feel free to attend either or both activities!

3:00 pm - Volleyball
Prospect Park, Long Meadow - 3rd Street entrance
www.prospectpark.org for map, or call when you get to the Park for exact location"

So, there you go. AND the rumor is that Klove (recently unemployed by his Japanese Maesters), just might find the energy to separate himself from his conquest of the mongol hordes to come on up and partake in volleyball drinkingness... I'm not positive, but I also think folks have mentioned that that weekend is the arrival of Rounders and Reees in Gotham. IT's action packed!

Frants & I have been addictively attacking each other in cyberspace with Lightsabers, thanks to Jedi Knight II. This weekend, it seems that Duckles will join the fray as well. If you have a few extra bucks, and would like to chop chop like the geek you are, snatch up a copy for your computer and let us know when you'd like to play. We're taking the retahdedness to a whole new level...

For those of you out there with the mad-obsession with all things music, and you have the means, I must reccomend the iPod with some very big thumbs up. After not being able to fully play with it last weekend (due to my contracting the "rage"), this weekend I was able to work on a 4+ hour mix for myPod. It's opening up whole new possibilities in the science of mixes. Fabulous. Ghetto fabulous. Oh, and along the lines of muzak -- there are some great topics over at Ire's music section of the messageboard. Get some pennies together and drop off your .02+ cents. It'll be worth it.

Lotsa events seeming to go on as of late, from plays and such to Frants' production of his short film, "Lemonade." He's posting updates on the whole filmmaking process over on the board. Be sure to peep the events section for the rest. Aside from all of this, we have the baseball season plugging away (and the Sox haven't done their traditional give-up-in-August drop yet), and the football season is just warming up. Solid.

Lastly, if you're in the market for some new headshots - you actors out there - there's a bitchin' gal who is in the business of taking some phat shots of you folk. I've spent the last month or so putting a website together for her, so go on over and check it out. (You'll notice the QueenGimp here and there on the site as well...). I bring you... the lovely Liz Pearce's Photography!

Anyways, stay Fresh / stay Clean.

You better call Tyrone. (by Kluv, 7/13/03, 9:25pm)

A very good birthday celebration last evening for one Maester Porter at his pad. There were drinks to be had and many many songs to be sung, and eventually someone (I'm not going to name names) lived up to the old cliche'd "lampshade on the head" level of drinkingness. It was a boss time, and I know everyone had a ball. Everyone, of course, except Tyrone. Cuz', you just know... he's never home.

ALSO, everyone should go and take a look at the website for Goldie's production of "Shakespeare's R&J" which is going to open on the West End in Londona very soon. He is the producer extraordinaire, and the website can be found at www.shakespearesrandj.com . So, if you're in the area of boogie down britain, bop on in and buy a ticket for this fall's hottest show (involving 2 or more Ithaca Graduates -- but it's not just hot because of that, it's even hotter because of that). Sssssssssssuper!!!

Hmph. I think that's about it. Suck it. Go Sawx.

"I think her name's Debra..." (by Kluv, 7/7/03, 10:54pm)

A grand and happy independence to all y'all out there in wonderland. The holiday week brought us not only sunny skies and sweaty backs, but the return of GiMp, fireworks and beer bottles, some great (and terrible) Sox/Yank games, and a long awaited new single from "These Nuts."

GiMp returned from her almost year-long sojurn this past Monday, and spent about 83 hours straight holding onto Ella without letting go. She was finally coaxed into letting the poor thing eat and go to the bathroom when GiMp was promised some booze on Friday. There was an informal gathering of folks on Friday afternoon in Queens, and after a few cocktails -- the next thing you know it, you're on the rooftop watching some spack-tackular fireworks over the east river. Unfortunately, with some day-long drinking comes a lack of desire to move, and so the planned attendance at Happy's 4th bash fell through... but good things can come out of unforseen accidents...

For once the crew admitted their lack of desire to travel into the 'hattan, Duckles strapped on his mighty weapon and plugged in -- and a new song was recorded by "These Nuts." That's right, after making a huge splash in the Oceana and Bashkortostan Republics with "The Gambler", many wondered if they would ever reunite. Well, the answer was a resounding YES, and with some high-power backing vocals by GiMp, K-ther, Bowie, Kate, and YoungJames, the quartet of Diesel, Kluv, Duckles, and Ire layed down their finest work to date: a superska version of the mafia standard, "Be With You." If you would like to hear it, take yer time and download it from here by right clicking and "saving blah blah target blah as..."

The rest of the weekend was spent mostly aquiring and constructing new and large pieces of furniture from Ikea. It was long and tiring, but after the cleaning was all done, Salvo got 7 of the most stylish and hip bags of clothes ever to be dropped off, I swear. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go to sleep and dream the dreams of kings. Those scripts don't proof themselves, damnit. Aren't we due for another guest update sometime soon? Anyone.....?

Anyone?

A Punchup At A Wedding. (by Kluv, 6/28/03, 7:32pm)

It's taken four hours and thirty-nine minutes, but I have finally finished it. I promised you, and now I deliver: The Photos of the Mafia Weddings. That's right, I scraped and scrounged, and I put together some migtyfine galleries from the nuptuals of Gar & Lizzie's & Rounders & Meg's. There isn't enough space to put up everything I have (a couple hundred photos from each), but it's a pretty good selection I've gotten up there. If you see a pic in particular that you'd like to have in a bigger & better quality, just drop me an email -- I have all of them and would be happy to send em' over to you.

Head over to the Picture Pages, and take a look at the "Waaaaaaaaadings."

Anyways, I'm beat. Time to eat some dinner. Baseball Sunshine Funtime in Central Park tomorrow. Be there or be...really sorry that you weren't. I guess.

Cheers,

PS - I almost fogot... there's a new mystery link to go along w/ the wedding gallery...

Well, the Fourth has past, but there are birthdays to be had (at least two of which are those of some Sons of Jersey...). Gigs to be seen (except the Red Menace show, which I just found out has been cancelled...). But aside from fundraisers and other things, I am sure there will be Sundays/Saturdays in the park and also...

...just also...

...VOLLEYBALL?

...It will happen. Mark my words, and keep your eyes to the grindsto-- I mean, intranet.

Cliznik Here to pop over to the Good Times Events Section.

Strays
