A
Punchup At A Wedding. (by Kluv, 6/28/03, 7:32pm)
It's taken
four hours and thirty-nine minutes, but I have finally finished it.
I promised you, and now I deliver: The
Photos of the Mafia Weddings. That's right, I scraped and
scrounged, and I put together some migtyfine galleries from the nuptuals
of Gar & Lizzie's & Rounders & Meg's. There isn't enough
space to put up everything I have (a couple hundred photos from each),
but it's a pretty good selection I've gotten up there. If you see
a pic in particular that you'd like to have in a bigger & better
quality, just drop me an email -- I have all of them and would be
happy to send em' over to you.
Head over
to the Picture Pages, and take a look
at the "Waaaaaaaaadings."
Anyways,
I'm beat. Time to eat some dinner. Baseball Sunshine Funtime in Central
Park tomorrow. Be there or be...really sorry that you weren't. I guess.
Cheers,

PS - I
almost fogot... there's a new mystery link to go along w/ the wedding
gallery...
Let
Me Sleep On It... (by Kluv, 6/22/03, 10:42pm)

Hugs and
kisses to Sorel and Megs after another excellent stop on the Wedding
Weekend Tour 2003. The stop in Ithaca was action packed, and after
I have some time to properly sift through all 238 pictures Duck and
I have between the two of us, we'll get a proper gallery up for everyone
to enjoy. (I'm hoping by the weekend, but I make no promises...)
To the
Newlyweds, the regular crew, and those of you who I was lucky enough
to reunite with (if just for one night) after these many years: Cheers.
It was more than great, it was more than awesome, it was...Hi-Fi.
. May we be able to do it again sooner rather than later.
God Bless
D.P. Dough.

PS
- We've got a new mystery pic...
Sanctified
(by Kluv, 6/19/03, 9:42pm)
Ah, two
weeks back in the lovely little hamlet of Stuckeyville does a body...good,
I guess. Not a whole lot new and exciting, aside form the stupendous
head-exploding action of SOFII
which plays with lightning speeds on my big black supracomputer. Things
are grand, as a number of the mafia crew took off today for the lovely
hills of gorges Ithaca -- for we all return this weekend to celebrate
the nuptuals of one Mr. Rounders and Ms. Reees.
Why, it
seems like just yesterday when I heard a half-awake Rounders utter
his "two rules" to Reees. It was true love, and we all look
forward to a good time this weekend...The Holiday Inn doesn't know
what it's in for, I tells ya. I'll be sure to bring some DP Dough
back for everyone.
Other than
that, there really isn't much too exciting happening these days. Work
hasn't yet taken over my life completely...but I'm not holding
my breath, either. We do have two events that I was notified of coming
up soon:
Red Menace
is playin' a gig to benefit the BLUNT THEATRE. Quoted as an adventurous
night of entertainment. you can see them on Friday, July 11th, at
10PM. Also, Katharine Clark nowGray has a staged reading of her new
play, "516" coming up on Saturday, June 28th, at 3PM. Check
the events
page for details on both...
I think
that's it kids. Check out the new Dropkick
Murphys CD, Blackout. Tis' excellent, in my humble opinion. Be
well.

Then
She Did... (by Kluv, 6/7/03, 10:36am)

They're
back. New single "Just Because" at their site for listening.
New album in July. All hail the kings.

De
Deu Deup Porter... (by Kluv, 6/6/03, 6:42pm)
Well, the
terrible sickness that seemed to hit the majority of folks who were
in lovely Gloucester, MA this past weekend has taken me out. It hit
earlier this week, and only now am I able to find the strength to
fight the vicious cough, and bring to you -- the peoples of the intranet
-- word from last weekend's wedding wonderland.
And that
word is: AWESOME. It truly was a fantastical, fun-filled
time. And because of that (and my newfound cable-modem access which
is definitely some kind of wonderful...), I bring to you an
imprompteu collection of pics capturing the various states of the
weekend.

Well,
first off -- here's the view from where the
ceremony
was held. Pretty
friggin' amazing, eh? Yes. It all took place a one of the most amazing
(and somewhat terrifying) houses I've ever been in -- complete with
secret panels and hidden rooms, all circa 1900 -- Red
Roof. A number of us managed to get ourselves up to the town
that the Perfect Storm made fameous, and were ready
for the big event.
Well,
the big event came on Saturday, and while all the weatherpeople said
it would rain--no, not just rain, but pour -- it held off.
We saw Lizzie
and Gar in all their glory come together, with Josh as the
maester of ceremonies. Quite simply, it
was beautiful. Words were said, poems read, and Duck
sang. No other words
can really describe it, but I can assure you there was narry
a dry eye in the house (including Diesel -- that's right,
for one moment, stone actually bled!).
And
so, after the ceremony, it was time to eat, drink, and be merry. And
drink
we did. After the delicious dinner,
folks congregated to sip cocktails and tell
stories. It wasn't long after that, Gar & Lizzard got
the dancing
started. And start it they did. Harnessing the power of the
iPod, and hitting
the attendees with one of the greatest playlists any
wedding has ever heard -- we were powerless to do anything except
boogie our ass off. And boogie
we did.
So
we danced. And
we sweat. And we had one of those "nights of nights"
where years later you think back and remember with a smile -- "that
was a great time". So, on behalf of everyone --
I again give you thanks, PorterMartin's. And as my father is often
heard saying at such occasions: "Good
Party, More Whiskey."
So,
enjoy the pics. I'm going to try to stop coughing for 5 minutes and
watch the NetzRedSox games... And try to forget that I have to go
to work next week. Try real hard. Until next time, stay gold.
(Oh, and if you want some good stuff to read -- check out Page
2's list of the Biggest Cheaters In Baseball. Unbelieveable what
some of these guys have done. I laughed out loud at some points...)

Yankees/Boston
Suck(s)! (by Kluv, 5/28/03, 6:02pm)
So, the
first two games have been split with Rucket Roger getting robbed of
his 300th victory against the Old Towne Team. And thankfully, the
Artist Formerly Known as the Boston Sports Guy is back on Page 2 over
at ESPN with an excellent article entitled "Rocket
Failure: I Love It" that should be required viewing.
It's a great companion piece to his "Clemens is the Antichrist"
article from a few years ago. Do yourself a favor and go check it
out.
Of course,
in standard poetic justice -- I was on hand to witness my team's defeat
last night in the Bronx amid many chants and boasts and epithets,
most of which were not really accurate. (Because just like Ire has
said for years the "Yankees Suck" chants don't work because,
they don't... And the "Boston Sucks" chant fails
for the same reason. It's a never ending spiral that -- like the two
snakes eating each other's tail in that cool design on the cover of
the Neverending Story book -- just continues on and on and on. That
is, until this season when the Sox win the world series. Then, it
will finally end.)
Watched
"The Recurit" today. A perfectly entertaining movie with
that brogue-y bad boy C. Farrell (or however you spell it). And man
does Pacino look rough. Some guys don't really show their age... Other
guys........not so much.
Other than
that, just soaking up some computer/ps2 time before the Big Porter/Thin
Lizzie wedding this weekend in Massawhousetts. And following that...
the inevitable return to work. Yippee. At least I just got Coolie
Ranx's new 5-song demo of solo work that he's been putting together.
Good, GOOD times. I reccommend for all to plunk down the few
bucks for it.
Waiting
to get pictures of Frants and Gimp down in Dallas for some new Mystery
Pics this week. Will put them up as soon as theyr'e in my inbox. Beer
garden, anyone?

"Son
of a bitch must pay." (by Kluv, 5/25/03, 12:03am)
This
is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's
out there...
You
just listen to the ol' Pork Chop Express an' take his advice on a
dark and stormy night when some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac
grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the
barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if ya paid
your dues, why you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye,
and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that:
"Have ya paid your dues, Jack?"
"Yessir,
the check is in the mail."
Nineteen dollars and ninety-six cents of your hard earned lettuce
slapped down on the counter, and let me tell you something: Every
goddamned penny is worth it. Great way to spend a Saturday evening
when it's cold and rainy and you're just looking for that one extra
reason to kick back and lie in bed for just a few extra hours. An
American classic, with Kurt giving you nothing but the joy in enjoyable
from start to finish. So do yourself a favor, forget about that extra
value meal you wanted, and hold off on getting laundry detergent for
this week. You can get a new metrocard on Monday, and that new CD
isn't going anywhere. Pay the man your qwan, grab the 2-disk special
edition, and get ready to shake the pillars of heaven. It's all in
the reflexes.
"Just
remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison
arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack
Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, "Give
me your best shot. I can take it."

120
Gigabites of pure joy. (by Kluv, 5/22/03, 3:20pm)
Wow. It's
like being reborn into the world again. For this week, I finally recieved
my brand new computer. That's right -- Papa Kluv got himself a new
baby to play with, and *gasp* -- I can actually work on the website
from my home without the computer crashing! Remarkable!!! It's beautiful,
and it brings a tear to my eye every time I touch the lovely new keys...
they type so clean and crisp...
"It
is... so choice. If you have the means, I highly reccomend that you
pick one up."
So, what's
new and exciting out in the matrix? I'm sure most of you won't stumble
upon here except by accident since it hasn't been updated in many
moons. I'm not going to go and make some crazy promises that I can't
keep -- but I can definitely say that it's much (x3) easier to update
with the sexy new computer than it was with the crying weezing sputtering
old computer. So... just like KV, "time will tell."
Official
Ithacamafia.com t-shirts and gear? It's possible. Just might be on
the horizon... Any ideas or suggestions for designs are welcome. Just
email me.
As you
might have heard, Bobo is preparing to go down and do some singing
and dancing for a while, so WIMR is going on hiatus for a bit. But
worry not -- he'll be back at some point to satisfy your every eclectic
radio desire. Frants has been working like a madm'nnn, and so not
much has happened on the ffforum. But even though he's dividing time
between NYC, Westboro, Crooklyn, Beantown, and his never-ending love
for Yaz, Ire has been keeping at the Tyger -- and the musical discussions
continue to flow. Speaking of music, there's a number of new ablums
I'm anxiously anticipating are the new Radiohead (june) and the new
Jane's, "Strays" (formerly known as "Hypersonic"
coming out in July)... Not to mention waiting for Coolie's new demo
EP (who happened to catch the Red Menace show last week...).
Other than
drooling (and then carefully wiping up the drool) over my new computer,
most of the days have been taken up by some serious Final Fantasy
X playing. Highly addictive and enjoyable, once you get used to the
futuristic japanamationesque qualities that go along with it.
And we're
just going to forget that the Celtics even made the playoffs
this year, alright? It never happened. (But at least Sox just
continue with the ol' exciting/dissapointing play we've grown accustomed
to over the years. Tick-tock...baby. it's Millar Time!. Alright.
That's enough for now. Time to go lay in bed and watch some loud DVD's
on the computer system. Life is pretty good.
It's easy
like Sunday Morning.
