*First Time Visitors, Click HERE That Little Slut (1/4/01) Feeling sick. Thai food..hitting..digestive system. But I just learned that my arch-nemesis, Darth Round Nuts is still alive. So for all out there, beware--he is very dangerous. Do not put him in a difficult situation (like asking him to take his dirty slippers off when you just got the carpets shampooed), it will drive you to madness. So, faithful readers--study Rounders' Bio well. And watch your back. He always attacks from the back. A Space Odyssey (1/2/01) Yo Joe. I trust that everyone had as good a time as we did in Astoria, but I know that can't be possible. Therefore, I have put together the first part of my New Years Eve pics: the last hours of 2000. Be sure and go to the picture pages to check them out. Also--if you go to the message board, you can hear a personal greeting from the Astoria Jedi in the first hours of 2001. Now, I must go and mourn. For the wondrous Iron Chef 24 hour marathon that signaled New Years day is long past. My life has deep sadness for there will be no Octopus Battle for Iron Chef Morimoto today. Shakusa? Chow Yung So Fat! (12/30/00) Saw "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" yesterday. Awesome, just as my friends had suggested. Blows you away. I know, most people are skeptical that Ang Lee can match his previous picture, "Shanghai Noon", but he does. Wudun! Getting ready for the New Year Celebration at Jedi Ducks this weekend. Jedi Haps is actually in town, and he wants more pictures of him up on the site. I told him I need to take pictures of him, in order for me to put up pictures, but he said he'd rather have the old ones of him up because he thinks he's fat now. I guess you'll have to judge for yourself... And finally, Jedi Punk Rock and Jedi Gimp have provided us with their Bios. (*Addendum 12/31/00 --Jedi 2-Shoes has just submitted his bio! Elevation! Although certain aspects of his bio almost caused me so take the ol' EDITING pen to it...I let it pass. Although if he makes any more slanderous remarks towards ska or Pilfers, he may find himself in the ranks of the Sith with Round Nuts Bailey. --Kluv) The list is nearing completion, and those who fail to submit soon may be banished to the Outer Rim territories ASAP. Rock on. The snowstorm has turned Astoria into Hoth. It is time to celebrate the year's end...Pull up your socks, the chilis are coming. Have a safe new year, ya'll. Kluv Citing Creative Differences... (12/29/00) Well, it seems that today is a day of death. I have learned of three deaths today: 1.) The break up of Ben Folds Five. 2.) The closing of Moon Ska. and 3.) The death of Billy Barty, Diminutive Actor and an Advocate for Dwarfs (not to be confused with Billy Budd the Sailor). Ben Folds Five was an amicable break up. It seems that Mr. Folds' living in Australia caused too much trouble in getting the band together (according to some sources.) Check out the story here. Moon Ska closed it's doors after being largely responsible for the resurgence of ska music in the US for the last 15 (or so) years. It seems that Bucket just couldn't do it any more, and so, he has closed shop. Read his release here. And lastly, Billy Barty, aged 76, is dead. Who was Mr. Barty, you ask? Why, here's the article courtesy of Jedi Punk Rock. DAMN THOSE SCOOTERS!: Billy Barty, Diminutive Actor and an Advocate for Dwarfs, Dies at 76 By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS LOS ANGELES, Dec. 26 - Billy Barty, a 3-foot-10-inch actor whose career spanned seven decades and all types of roles, died on Saturday at a hospital in Glendale, Calif. He was 76. Mr. Barty had been hospitalized for heart problems and a lung infection, and died of heart failure, said his publicist, Bill York. Mr. Barty appeared in his first Hollywood feature in 1927 at age 3 and performed on radio, television and Broadway. Among his most memorable film characters were a wizard in "Willow" (1988), a tongue- in-cheek role as a German spy in "Under the Rainbow" (1981) with Chevy Chase, a suspected stalker in "Foul Play" (1978) and an agent in "Day of the Locust" (1975). In the late 20's and early 30's he played Mickey Rooney's kid brother in a series of comedy shorts. He later had several television appearances, including his own children's show, "Billy Barty's Big Show," in Los Angeles in the 1960's, and he appeared on several shows over the last three decades, most recently an episode of "Frasier." In 1957 Mr. Barty founded Little People of America, an advocacy group for others with dwarfism. He later started a nonprofit foundation that bears his name to help improve the quality of life for little people, the term he said he preferred. On his foundation's Web site, he says, "The name of my condition is Cartilage Hair Syndrome Hypoplasia, but you can just call me Billy." "The general public thinks all little people are in circuses or sideshows," Mr. Barty said in an interview last year. "We have doctors, nurses, just about every field covered." Mr. Barty was injured in May when he fell off a motorized scooter onto concrete stairs, bruising his face and fracturing an eye socket. He had been using the scooter since undergoing hip surgery earlier in the year. Mr. Barty, whose original name was William John Bertanzetti, was born in Millsboro, Pa., in 1924. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a son, Braden; a daughter, Lori; and a granddaughter, Tina. Missing In Action (12/28/00) Wild times have been upon me this week with the holidays, and thusly, I have been neglecting my duties. Crazy weekend was had back home for the X-mas holiday, with the Hempfield High School 5.5 year reunion taking place and plenty of new toys to play with. Jedi Klove provided me with the new Rage CD, and so, I now provide you with a review of that ol' album, "Renegades". Now me go read R.A. Salvatore. You go post on Message Board. Kluv
