Domesticatedness

A quick hola hola from the Keystone State, where today I finished a regimen of 1.) playing soccer in the park and eating Quizno's, 2.) mowing the lawn and enjoying (as Strongbad would say) "the property of ones", and 3.) playing 23 holes of kick-ass miniature golf at one of the best putt-putt places around. Not a bad days work, eh? Ahhhhh vacation.

I trust you are all keeping the city in good steads. I heard that the Spermy/NellsBells send-off was a blast, and I was very sad to have missed it. But, as C-ray mentioned in one of his Sinister Coast entries -- we also narrowly missed getting pummelled last week at our impromptu send-off, so it wasn't a total wash. (Also, I got pummelled later that evening as I threw up into the toilet for what seemed like hours on end: the toilet seat rebelled against me and smacked me right in the face. I have a nice little cut on the bridge of my nose from it, thank you very much... but at least I finally managed to pass out on the bathroom floor... eww.)

I'm off to Va. tomorrow for some nuptuals of an old friend of mine, and it stands to be a fine time indeed. I think I am most psyched for the swimming pool at the hotel. I dreamt of it all day as I sweat while mowing the parents lawn (which I remember that I used to hate, but found it strangely relaxing today... grass, gasoline, sunsweat... good times).

Anyways, I'll be back next week, and I trust you will all enjoy yourselves in the meantime. Hopefully I'll be back to work soon, so keep your fingers crossed for me -- and for all of you ramblers doin' some rambling this weekend and travelling: be safe.

"'tis a fine barn, English -- but surely 'tis no pool."

Go West, young man!

Go west and find your fortune. Or at least a job.

The day has finally come. The Sperm is leaving NYC. And being that the furthest I've ever lived from here is Ithaca, its kinda a big deal. At least to me. So, I've decided I shall share it all with you.

Yes, Kluv has given me control of the much neglected 4th forum and I plan to use it to tell all of you about the misery of leaving NY and moving to LA. AND IT IS MISERY!!!

So, check out:

Destination: Sinister Coast

I promise more of you will defect to the left.

When Desperate Static Beats the Silence Up...

For those of you going to see Ben Folds this summer at the Central Park show, you might want to head over to this site and download a show he recently did last month at Foellinger Auditorium in Illinois.

It features a new song entitled Late, which Ben wrote as a tribute to the late Elliott Smith. It's a heartbreaker.

Late
Under some dirty words on a dirty wall
Eating takeout by myself
I play the shows
Got back in the van and put the walkman on
And you were playing

In some other time a thousand miles away
I played a thousand times before
And like pathetic stars, the truck stops and the rock club walls
I always knew
You saw them too
But you never will again

It's too late
Don't you know
It's been too late
For a long time

Elliot, man, you played a fine guitar
And some dirty basketball
The songs you wrote
Got me through a lot
Just wanna tell you that

But it's too late

It's too late
Don't you know
it's been too late
for a long time

No, no
Things were looking up
Least that's what I heard
No, no
Someone came and washed away your hard-earned
Piece of mind

When desperate static beats the silence up
A quiet truth to calm you down
The songs you wrote
Got me through a lot
Just wanna tell ya...

Oh, but it's too late

It's too late
Don't you know?
It's been too late
For a long time.

He'll always be our little Diesel...

Well, with the outflux of Mafiiites to the Sinister coast happening this spring (Spermy and Big China amongst them), it seems like we're going to be losing our own little Diesel Buffness as well: to Charm City, aka Baltimore.

For let it be known that Diesel is now gainfully employed, as the new Asst. Editor on my favorite HBO show, "The Wire." A big congrats to longhair DB, and thank the maker that he won't be leaving till' July. So you still have your chance ladies -- don't waste your time!

I am sure the SOCOM II online community of North America will be taking this hard as well -- with Terrorists jumping for joy, and dedicated Seals like myself and Klove having to pick up the slack to ensure we won't lose any ground. An end of an era, truly.

Now, if you excuse me, I seem to have sweated something off here thanks to the humidity and am off to find where I lost them...

Tankya Tankya Tankya!

To those of you who once again supported us in this year's Revlon Run/Walk to fight women's cancers -- a big THANK YOU! Our team was once again the strongest (and according to Spermy, featured on NY1 -- way to go Lil' D) and best looking team out there... Except for that little boxer puppie that was walking in front of us and Diesel and I almost stole... Anywho, here's a shot of the butt-kicking team, and once again, thanks for supporting us guys!!

Pokey! Pokey! Pokey!

Wow. I just saw Pokey Reese hit an inside the park home run a little while ago (which he then followed up with a regulah home run) for the sox... So, since this will probably be the only time this year that I will get the opportunity to, I just wanted to post a little quiz as of today, May 8th, 2004:

G AB HR RBI R SB CS SO AVG OBA SLG OPS
Player A 25 83 2 12 12 3 0 14 .265 .287 .398 .685
Player B 28 120 1 9 10 2 1 20 .183 .252 .242 .494

In addition to that, Player A is a very good defensive shortstop while Player B has "intangibles".

Who's who?
Player A = Pokey Reese ($1.0 MIL)
Player B = Derek Jeter ($18.6 MIL)

Go Sawks. (And for the record, Marcs said this week he wanted to start the "smack talk" again... so away we go!)

In a Blaze of (semi)Glory!

Hey Menudos, apologies for the site's recent off-line status. It seems that our super-servos got his with a bad case of virusitis and it knocked us offline... But, I think aDaM has gotten us up and running again at tip top shape, and that is that. Any Q's, just let me know.

Also, if anyone knows how we can single handedly bring Time Warner Cable to their knees, The residents of Steinway Hall would appreciate it.

Also also, happy Cinco de Mayo!
