Fiertruk

Every so often you come across something that is just... cool.

As many of you know I'm a huge fan of Mike Doughty, singer-songwriter-poet-smart/funnyguy, esquire. To support my claim, I hit Matty with some cd's of Doughty's greatness recently, and now he "can't get enough."

Lo, I discovered today that they just re-launched Mike Doughty's website, Super Special Questions (hopefully to fortell the coming of his soon-to-be-released new album). But the best part, is that it's one of the enjoyable websites I've ever had the joy of using. Great great design, and a true reflection of Doughty's (I'd say humor, but it's not just his humor).... Doughtyness.

Basically, it's him, in website form. So, go and check it out, it's well worth a half hour of your time, and at the very least, it's got some games and paint by number thingys to go along with the small rock music and his nicely written blog.

Kudos to his site designers. You are the sheezay.

Gimme that Nutt

Updating this morning's post, seems that MTV.com couldn't handle the scores of geeks around the world dying to catch a glimpse. Lo, there are a whole bevy of mirrors here and a fairly good quailty one here.

If you're wondering, the kick ass song is called "Jungle Fever" by the Chakachas.

And supposedly Rockstar is going to update their San Andreas site real soon as well... If you haven't seen the trailer, it's just like the first one for Vice City. All about setting up the atmosphere of the place, not showing any action, just the new world. I'm going to wish I were unemployed again come October.

Come geeks and non-geeks alike. For if you like the playstation, then you are insane for Grand Theft Auto. And if you are insane for Grand Theft Auto, then you will want to watch the MTV exclusive trailer of the new: GTA: San Andreas.

I'm sure they'll have a purrrrty quicktime version out in the next few days, but till then.... Be content and check it out here!

They musta shelled out some big bucks to Rockstar to get this exclusively for now... Oh, and it should also be on your MTV news today as well... 10 to the hour... bung.

Mail-disaster

Yikes. Big apologies to any of y'all who got like 2-3 emails from me requesting your contact info. Was trying to update my "new-fangled-address-book" when the computer crashed. Thought nothing went out, so sent out another one. And to some, yet another. It just wouldn't stop.

So, I suck.

But, as long as we're talking, anyone have an interest in getting some drinksnacks this week? Thursday?

Anyone?
Anyone?

SuperSpecialAddressBook

*Yawn* So, I'm thinking of giving this little program plaxo a spin. Out main tech maestro aDaM is using it, and had me update my info through him today. Basically, it's an address book that sends out messages to people to update their information in your book -- keeping them up-to-date -- and if they happen to also be on Plaxo, then your contact info will always sync with theirs. So, whenever I change my info, Adam's address book will be always up-to-date. Also very handy for birthdays and the like. (Also, if you use Outlook or Outlook Express w/ your bad self, it syncs with that, too.) Anywho, I'm going to do a little investigating and you just might get and email from me asking you to update your address and contact info from me in the near future!

Hm. Going away for a fantabulous wedding this weekend in DC. Should be a great, rainy, time. Wheeeeee.

Also also, congratulations are in order for my man Klove on his newfound employment! After almost a year on the dole, our man Red has gotten off the schnide and will be rocking out west for a little Tusconic adventure. "Faraway, so close (with Socom)" is the song that comes to mind -- does this mean a Desert Mafia Trip is in the cards for the future? Stay tuned to this bat-channel.

Alright. Time to pack, I've put it off enough. Boooyashakya.

Tha Hit Stick

Ugh. 3.5 hours later, on minimal sleep, I have finished the Boonton Pool Party gallery. But yet, I do not have anything as near as cool as the Madden 2005 collectors edition that Duck has.

I will now cry myself to sleep. And drool the drool of a different kind... (Oh to play the Bills of yore...)

Pool Party!

Driving to the ass end of Long Island has its perks indeed. Perks like 3 previous incarnations of the game, inlcuding one 16-bit gem from Sega Genesis. Perks like a trivia game. Perks like 2 days early.

I'll see y'all in October when GTA:SA comes out. I'm good till then.

Hallo Folks, hope the weekend treated most of you well and better. Whirlwind weekend led right into the Modest Mouse concert last night @ the Hammerstein -- excellent show, tons of fun, they rock quite a bit. Plus the lead singer was wearing a t-shirt with a sunglass-wearing kitty cat. Awwwww. They're sensitive.

Just wanted to let you all know that the Boonton Swimtime pics will be coming this week at some point as I get some time after the workaday hours. Probably not this eve, but perhaps lata... And speaking of lata -- I was thinking perhaps this week we could get a gathering of the minds (and pints) at some point... Say Thursday? The Gingerman? The St. Marks Alehouse? Yet another Public House-type? Discuss on the board, if you will.

A taste of the fun from last weekend: The Swan-Ton.

Also, if you've happened upon us through this last issue of the Ithaca College Quarterly, welcome. I was wondering when it would be coming out and I haven't seen it yet, so if they indicate we are uber-cool and smooth hipsters livin' the high life.... They're right. We are. (And any suggestion that we might be a gaggle of loveable losers who continue to fight with our collective breath to remain in a Pan-like stasis of youth.... Well, I don't quite know what any of that means -- so I'll leave it up to a smarter person, like Frants or Duck to decide if that's the case or not.) But I think cool is a good thing.

Right?

Either way, we're all real psyched around these parts to get us some fan mail, or hell -- even some hate mail! So, if you want to, just shoot said email on over to kluv@ithacamafia.com -- or just go onto the jungles of the messageboard and brave the unknown souls over there...

Time to make the donuts.

Jump Around (re-mix)

Just found a spiffy-ass link that all baseball fans should check out: the intro music for players on every team in Major League Baseball, complete with descriptions and stories behind some of them... Got a sec, then check it out here: Find Out What Poppi Likes.

Got the pool party pics from the Frants-man last night, so hopefully I'll get a gallery up re-capping everything in the next few days. Should be good times indeed, as there are some peaches, including "diving board action shots." If only we could have gotten one of me and that Swanton Bomb from behind...

Other than that, hope everyone has a bitchin' weekend. Looks like Klove is comin' into the city yet again for a trek (2 weeks in a row!) and we'll be partying it up at the Little Sister's for her birthday, and then going up to the 'hood in w'chester to celebrate K-thers life-day as well...

Solid, solid, solid indeed. Y'all are gettin' old.

Boonton Beauties

I'd just like to give out big props to the Duck-man and his lady for putting together a kick-ass weekend of sun and booze and ball-games and (best of all) a little bit of the splashy-splashy. The pool party was a vunderbar weekend of sun/rain and fun, where we got to witness Nomah's departure and Brantley's "360* with a twist" and Diesel's Navy Seal Pool Entry and the fact that Gareth's "khram" is far too big for the tiny bathing suit lining.

As per usual, good times for all.

And of course, the biggest props go to Seester and Yotko for allowing us into their humble abode, to drink their beer, fondle their dogs, and basically run around like ridalin-chomping children (with no thought to the risk they opened themselves up to from our lawsuits from the inevitable injuries that would occur). Bravo. Bravo.

Expect a gallery to arrive once the good are delivered from the Frants-man.
